ABOUT US

The Vero Beach Treasure Lacrosse League continues on after a tremendously successful 2007 fall season, with nearly 200 boys and girls participating.  The Vero Beach Treasure Lacrosse League is a community-wide youth lacrosse program for students entering grades one through eight from all schools across the Treasure Coast.

Vero Beach Treasure Lacrosse has two leagues, one for girls and one for boys.  For the 2008 fall season each league will have 4 divisions, representing grades one through eight.

Director and Founder, Kent Smith, twice Florida High School All-American and member of the Hobart College National Championship Team, has put together a team of experienced volunteer coaches, parents, past players and school lacrosse coaches. Practices and games will be held at Point West Polo fields.  Practices will be held one day a week (dates and times to be announced), and games will be on Saturday afternoons.

Teamwork, sportsmanship and a solid skill foundation for lacrosse fundamentals are the goals of the league.  Contact in both divisions will be controlled with emphasis on the ball and play.

If you are interested in being a volunteer coach or assisting in a volunteer coordinator capacity, please contact Kent Smith at 772-538-6002.  The league is planning to hold several coaching clinics for parents and other adults interested in coaching during the 2008-2009 fall and spring seasons.

The league is recognized by US Lacrosse.  Each player will become a USL member and receive member benefits.  For the most current information on the Vero Beach Treasure Lacrosse League, log onto www.vbtreasureleague.com
